Digital Graffiti 2010

Alys Beach had an amazing event called Digital Graffiti that took place just a few weeks ago. Hundreds of digital artwork submissions were received and only 36 were chosen to be shown at the event. One of the pieces selected was "Eye Spy" created by Russell Beans, Sarah Beans (me), and Jason Ambler. "Eye Spy" features Russell's unique artwork in a stop motion animation created with the idea of "What happens to your artwork once you leave the room?" Well, here is the answer! "Eye Spy" took home not one but TWO awards at Digital Graffiti 2010: BEST LOCAL SUBMISSION & AUDIENCE CHOICE and won a total of $2000 in prize money. Luckily our friends from Tallahassee came for the event and we all the best night ever! Here are a few pictures from the event:

And don't forget to check out "Eye Spy" on youtube!!
P.S. If you want to see the REAL full version search "Eye Spy Russell" on youtube, for some reason the video won't embed to a small enough size to fit on here

BeachTube Background

Many of you may be wondering how BeachTube got its start, so here's a little bit of background info about the BeachTube team.

Carpe Diem Productions was founded by Tonya Kilpatrick in the summer of 2010. Tonya Kilpatrick has been working in the television industry for 11 years. Tonya has been a TV personality for NBC affiliate WALB (South GA #1 News and Information Source), and has been featured on NBC's Dateline, and the Oprah Winfrey Show. Tonya exemplifies a tremendous passion for production. Her joyful presence is contagious to those she interviews and features on her television broadcasts. She truly finds joy in working in media and working with people! Check out these photos of her beautiful family enjoying a day on the beach!

My name is Sarah Beans and I am doing an internship with BeachTube for the summer. I will be the "voice" of this blog and be the one filing you in on what's happening with us throughout the summer. I am currently a junior at Florida State University pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mass Communication Studies. Film and TV production have been a love of mine since the beginning of high school and I would like to eventually have a career as a film or TV editor. I LOVE going to the beach, going to local shows, taking photos, and being with my friends. I was a cheerleader for most of my life and I love being on stage performing. Here is some photos of me just being me!

A Little About BeachTube...

Beach Tube is the most dynamic way to say hello to family and friends (and even co-workers) while you are vacationing at the beach! At Carpe Diem Productions, we provide our clients with a quality "Video Postcard" that they can email, post on facebook, myspace, and twitter. And we even provide a DVD to watch wherever they have a TV or computer!
